| Moscow, a town of about
22,000, is located in
the heart of the Palouse region in Northern Idaho. This
rich agricultural area enjoys clean air and a generally
dry continental climate. The region offers a variety of
outdoor recreational opportunities such as fishing, hiking,
camping, sailing, skiing, and whitewater rafting in three
states: Washington, Idaho, and Oregon. Moscow is located
approximately 90 miles south of the Spokane, Washington -
Couer d'Alene, Idaho metropolitan area, an area with a
metropolitan population of more than 400,000. Both the warmth of various small-town community
events and the cultural excitement of a larger city are
readily available. In addition, on-campus activities at both
the University of Idaho and Washington State University, 8
miles away, contribute greatly to the cultural, athletic, and
scientific life of the area.
