To check your grades now, and throughout this
course, you need to go
to the "WebCT" site and login. ( http://webct.uidaho.edu
)
Your login ID
for this purpose is your University of Idaho Unix account
ID, which for most students is the first four letters of their last
names plus
another four numbers. For a very small number of others, the ID is
one
made of their name.
Students who added the course quite late are not yet
included in the
WebCT class roster and cannot login to check grades. A notice will
be
published when their names are included.
Your initial
password is your birthdate in the form MMDDYY, where
MM means two digits of the month of birth, DD is two digits for the day
of birth, and only two digits, YY, for the year of birth.
The first time you visit this site for
Geog-100, you will be asked to
accept a legal agreement with the publisher of your text
materials. This
will require you to enter the long, "secret," password that
was included
with your shrink-wrapped text package. If you did not buy the text
package, you will have the opportunity to click on a web link and
purchase
a password on-line for $15. (Your professor did this so he can
pretend
to be a student for the purpose of testing whether these mechanisms
work.) Or, you still can buy the text package.
Another choice,
of course, is to not check your grades via this web
site.
