Spinal tectal and propriospinal tracts
There is also a spinotectal tract that runs from
the cord to the superior colliculus (part of the tectum). The superior colliculus is
concerned with vision and eye movement. What effect these spinal afferents have on tectal
function is uncertain. Completely surrounding the gray matter of the cord is the
propriospinal tract. This tract conveys information from one cord segment to another as
for example the long spinal reflex that was presented in physiology last semester.
