Spinocerebellar system         click here for diagram

There is a forelimb equivalent to the ventral spinocerebellar tract which is called the rostral spinocerebellar tract. The rostrospinocerebellar tract is also concerned with a more gross coordination of movement but differs from the ventral spinocerebellar tract in that it is uncrossed and reaches the cerebellum both in the inferior and superior cerebellar peduncles. Other ascending pathways include a spino-olivary tract which ascends from all level of the spinal cord and terminates in the accessory olive in the medulla. These in turn project to the cerebellum and the spino-olivary tract constitutes a part of the spinocerebellar system.
