If you know the anatomy of these pathways and the type of "information" that is carried in each of the pathways, you will be able to determine the anatomic site of a nervous system disorder or at least limit the possible number of sites. Identification of the problem may not always be of medical benefit to the patient but patients generally like to know what is wrong with them.
