limbic lobe
- It is important for things related to affective behaviors,
that is ones with strong emotional content.
- The limbic lobe is best seen from the medial aspect of the cerebrum,
where it forms a ring or rim about various structures in the core of the forebrain.
- The limbic lobe includes parts of most of the other lobes of the
hemisphere (i.e. frontal, parietal and temporal).
- The upper picture is a view of the undissected cortex. the lower
photo shows the cingulum, that is the group of fibers underlying the cortex.
