  • It is important for things related to affective behaviors, that is ones with strong emotional content.
  • The limbic lobe is best seen from the medial aspect of the cerebrum, where it forms a ring or rim about various structures in the core of the forebrain.
  • The limbic lobe includes parts of most of the other lobes of the hemisphere (i.e. frontal, parietal and temporal).
  • The upper picture is a view of the undissected cortex. the lower photo shows the cingulum, that is the group of fibers underlying the cortex.
