cerebellum (sarah bell' um)
- It is important for coordinating voluntary movements (e.g.
walking, posture, speech) and for learning motor (skilled) behaviors.
- The cerebellum, like the cerebrum, has a cortex or outer covering of
gray matter. The types/names of neurons and layers in the two cortices differ.
