Funding Opportunity-Travel Grants

Through competitive award from the National Institutes of Health, the University of Idaho was awarded $16 million dollars over five years to increase the biomedical research capacity of Idaho institutions of higher education.  The vision of INBRE is to provide all faculty and students in Idaho, who have an interest in biomedical research, the opportunity to pursue that goal in the state.  To this end, the Idaho INBRE Program is currently accepting applications for travel grants at the University of Idaho.  Applications will be considered for all biomedical, bioinformatic or biomedical engineering research interests, regardless of department.   

INBRE Travel Grants
 

 

The INBRE Travel Grant Program is designed to assist faculty and/or students with travel to scientific meetings at which they will be presenting.  Funds up to $1,000 may be requested and travel must be completed prior to April 30th, 2007. Completed applications should be e-mailed to inbre@uidaho.edu or sent via hard copy to:

Completed Applications should include the following:

Name, dates and location of meeting; Title of presentation; Name of traveler (faculty or student); Type of presentation (oral or poster); A brief (one paragraph maximum) description of how attending this meeting will benefit your research program. Please make sure to include an NIH Biosketch and Other Support forms.

Review Criteria.

Applications will be reviewed and considered based on financial need and potential impact on research at the University of Idaho. Only applications that include all of the above information will be considered. In addition, awardees must be willing to Cite INBRE as part of their presentation.

 

Application Deadline.

Applications must be received 2 weeks prior to travel.  Last application will be accepted April 13th, 2007 and travel must be completed by April 30th, 2007.

 

Earliest Notice of Award.

March 9th, 2007

 

Funds Availability.

The funds will be available until the end of the budget period, which is April 30th, 2007.  Travel must be completed before this date. Applications will be reviewed and award decisions made in the order they are received. Awards will be made until funds are exhausted.
