This is the
first purely scientific interaction among Western NIH INBRE
states. We chose "Infectious Disease" as a theme with broad
appeal in each state. The purpose of this Symposium is to get
to know each others' scientific work. To that end, every faculty
member that comes to the meeting will present a brief overview
of their program and technical expertise. Our hope is that this
exchange of information and the networking/interactive times
will foster collaboration between scientists in the Western
