Core
| INBRE collaborates as part of the the Initiative for Bioinformatics and Evolutionary
STudies (IBEST), an interdisciplinary group of
faculty an students who work together to examine the intricacies
of evolutionary biology by combining many different fields of study,
including computer science, mathematics, biology and microbiology, and
statistics. With IBEST,
INBRE contributed to bioinformatics facilities at the University of Idaho:
Statewide
INBRE Bioinformatics Core provided funds for computer hardware and
software and training resources to build a core of bioinformatics
capabilities statewide.
- Sun
Servers
-
Remote
access software
- Bioinformatics Coordinator (Dr.
Celeste Brown), to provide statewide training and "Help Desk
Services"
- Yearly
conference providing Seminar and Training in Bioinformatics
University of Idaho Facilities
- Providing
funds to the Beowulf Facility.
The purpose of this facility is to provide high performance
computing capacity for analysis of evolutionary models and
biological data.
- Provides scheduling for use of VectorNTI
licenses. Contact Celeste Brown at
celesteb@uidaho.edu for
more information.
- Provide access to state of the art
database and data storage facilities (Purchased Raid Servers)
- Helped
support the construction of the Classroom Training Center for
faculty and students
- For
