Commencement: The
University of Idaho will celebrate commencement on Saturday, May 12,
2007, beginning at 9:30 a.m. in the Kibbie Dome. A College of
Science celebration will follow the ceremony in the Commons.
Dean Judith Totman Parrish
has announced that she will step down as dean and return to teaching
and research on July 1, 2007.

Dr. Malcolm and Carol
Renfrew were presented with the University of Idaho Alumni
Association's Distinguished Idahoan Award on June 25, 2006.
Both are alumni of the University of Idaho and Dr. Renfrew is
professor and chair emeritus of the Department of Chemistry.

Dr. Dale Everson,
Professor Emeritus of
Statistics, and his wife, Darlene Everson, were honored
for their achievements and service to the University of Idaho at a luncheon on
November 10, 2005, during which they received the University of Idaho Retirees Association
Idaho Treasures
Award.

Janet
Schaumburg, who graduated from the University of Idaho with a
B.S. in mining engineering in 1977, received the UI Alumni Association's
Jim Lyle Award recognizing dedicated volunteer service to the
university on October 20, 2005.

Janet Randall, a 1965 graduate of the University of Idaho with a
B.S. in zoology, received the UI Alumni Association Silver and Gold
Award at a ceremony on April 12, 2005. More

of Idaho alumnus John W. Norbury has been named the new head of the Physics Department at Worcester Polytechnic Institute in
Worcester, Massachusetts. Dr. Norbury graduated from the
university in 1983 with a Ph.D. in physics. Idaho
