MID-TERM EXAM

This exam will cover all material from Lesson 1.1 to Lesson 3.4, including problem sets, but there is unlikely to be a direct question from Lesson 1.1 (the principles from Lesson 1.1 will be incorporated into questions from other Lessons). I will make the exam available here by 8:00 AM Pacific Time on Thursday March 6, and the exam will be due to me via e-mail or hand delivery no later than 5:00 PM Friday March 7. I expect that you should spend no more than a total of 3-5 hours on the exam, but am providing a 2-day window for flexibility for those that may have day jobs. I do not expect most people to need all this time; it is there for your convenience only.

EXAM STATISTICS

The exam statistics were as follows:

FINAL EXAM

This exam will strongly concentrate on material from Lesson 3.5 to Lesson 6.1. There will be no material from Lesson 6.2-6.3, but there will be at least one question based on material from Lessons prior to Lesson 3.5.

I will be posting the final exam Thursday morning May 4 at 9:30 AM PDT. The exam is due to me by Sunday at 2:00 PM PDT. I will be leaving town on Saturday May 6 at 6:00 AM, so to hand in your exam and make sure it gets to me on time there are several options:

1) Hand it in to me personally or fax it to me at the usual number before 3:30 PM on Friday May 5. You will not be able to hand it in personally to me after that time.

2) E-mail it to me at any time before the deadline (this is the preferred option because I will have access to e-mail wherever I am. It has the least chance that the exam will get misplaced and gives you the most time to complete it).

REMEMBER, THE EXAM MUST BE YOUR OWN WORK. YOU CAN COMMUNICATE TO NOBODY OTHER THAN ME REGARDING ANY QUESTIONS YOU MAY HAVE. GOOD LUCK!
