4.7 The Solubility of Dolomite, Sulfides and Phosphates

OVERVIEW

You will learn about the kinetic problems with respect to the formation of dolomite. You will also learn how to deal with the solubility's of sulfides and phosphates.

KEY CONCEPTS

  1. The nature of the “dolomite problem”
  2. How to calculate sulfide mineral solubilities
  3. How to construct and interpret predominance diagrams involving sulfides
  4. How to deal with the solubility of a phosphate mineral (apatite)
