To provide a
fundamental background in thermodynamics and apply this background
to geological problems. |

Background Preparation |
|
The minimum background preparation required is freshman
chemistry and some basic knowledge of geology. Knowledge of
differential calculus is also highly recommended. Previous
classes in geochemistry and/or physical chemistry would be
helpful, but are not absolutely necessary. |
