| How-To's |
 | Homework Options There are two main
options for handing in your homework depending on whether you
are taking the on-campus or web-based versions of this course:
 | If you are taking the class on campus, the
primary means of turning in your homework will be by hand in
class on the day it is due. If you cannot be in class on the
day it is due, I will accept your homework by e-mail according to the guidelines
below. Graded homework submitted in class will be returned to you in class. |
 | All students taking the web version
of the class must turn in their homework as a MS WORD
document. You will need to become proficient in the
use of the MS Office Equation Editor or some other equation
editor compatible with WORD, as most equations must be input
using such an editor for clarity. The equation editor is usually on the
installation disk for MS Office, but at least in some of the
older versions you must specifically
select that option when installing. The majority of your work in the WORD file
should be typed into the WORD document. A limited amount of
material, such as scanned versions of figures from the text
may be embedded into the WORD file, but all graphs you
make should be done in a graphics program such as EXCEL,
SIGMAPLOT or equivalent and imported into the WORD document
(or in the case of EXCEL, you can submit an EXCEL file as an
accompaniment to your WORD file). I will correct the
homework in the WORD file using the "Mark
Revision" and "Comment Tools" and return it
to you via e-mail. I will not
accept handwritten homework that has
been scanned into a WORD file. Usually such files are too
large to deal with easily and it is not possible for me to
make corrections on the scanned documents. Finally,
please insure that all homework files submitted have your
name in the file name. |
