Fall Semester: 2009

Chemistry 101 is taught by Professor Rick Fletcher this Fall.  My office is in room 004 of Renfrew Hall and that is where you will usually find me.  I also have a research lab in Renfrew 040 and I spend a lot of time there.  You are welcome to try me there, but you need to knock hard.  It's a loud room.  You may contact Dr. Fletcher by e-mail at fletcher@uidaho.edu and by office phone at 885-6021.  My cell is 208-596-1340 and you should feel free to use it if  I don't answer my office phone.  I'm usually good answering my cell until 10 or so at night.  Email often gets a fast reply.

Office hours for Fall Semester 2009:  11:30 – 12:30 (after class) and 2 PM – 3:00 PM on Monday and 1:30 - 3:00 PM on Wednesday.  Also, by appointment at other times. I'm also frequently roaming the campus and you are free to catch me anytime for help or to arrange a meeting.   I'll try and be available for your questions as much as possible.  Helping you is my first priority so call or email if a time outside of office hours works better for you.  You can also just stop by my office any time but you risk not finding me.  I cannot overstate this: Feel free to approach me anytime, anywhere.  Keep in mind that as part of my contract with the state I also run a research laboratory and much of my time is obligated there.  I teach another course and work with other students too.  Go ahead and catch me any time you can anywhere on campus, but understand there will be times when I might have to reschedule.  I'll tell you when it's a bad time for me and I will reschedule another appointment.  FEEL FREE TO ASK QUESTIONS AND TRY TO GET THE HELP YOU NEED.  I AM HAPPY TO HELP IF I CAN.  I suggest you try me for help AT LEAST TWICE before hiring a tutor.

In order to view/print many of the items below (like the syllabus) you MUST have the Adobe Acrobat reader installed on the computer you are using.  The computer labs on campus support this format and it should all work automatically.  Most home computers also work with this.  In order to find out if it works, just click on the syllabus and you should be able to read it.  If it does not work on a campus computer lab system, you can contact computer services (885-HELP).
