Nervous Systems (2008 course chair): Med 532


Nervous Systems studies the anatomy and function of the human nervous system. This course includes lectures, Laboratory and  Case study sections.  Topics cover gross neuroanatomy, functional neuroanatomy, sensory and motor systems and higher integrative systems.   It is a 5 credit hour course team taught by three WWAMI faculty. It is given every spring semester to first year medical students in the WWAMI Medical Education Program both at University of Idaho and Washington State University.  Graduate Students may take this course with permission of the WWAMI director.

 

Head and Neck Anatomy: Med 531


Head and Neck Anatomy studies the structures of the human head and neck using standard gross anatomy methods.  The course includes lectures and cadaver based anatomy labs. It is a 5 credit hour course team taught by WWAMI faculty. It is given every spring semester to first year medical students in the WWAMI Medical Education Program both at University of Idaho and Washington State University.  Graduate Students may take this course with permission of the WWAMI director.

 

Principles of Neurobiology: Neuro 520

Principles of Neurobiology explores the functional aspects of the brain from cell membrane to higher integrative processes.  This is a team taught course drawing on the expertise of neuroscience faculty from both U Idaho and WSU campuses.  Currently I lecture on the  neurobiology of sensory systems.
