What We Do

In my lab space in Gibb Hall, the research emphasis is vertebrate neurobiology, mainly using rodents, which are housed in the Laboratory Animal Research Facility.

Areas of interest include:
  1. structure and function of sensory and motor neurons,

  2. synaptic specificity, and

  3. development, degeneration and regeneration of neural tissue.

Using light and electron microscopy (Electron Microscopy Center), electrophysiology and immunocyto/histochemistry, we hope to develop strategies and products to recognize and repair damaged nervous tissue.

Please go to the Lab Members page to find out more about the students and scientists who work in our lab.
