Dr. Holmes’ research currently focuses on the comparative biology of aging and life span in birds and mammals, particularly reproductive aging in females. She is particularly interested in the timing of ovarian aging in female birds and the evolution of menopause.  She also has ongoing interests in biology and gender, women in science and women’s health issues.
