Ground water interaction with more than 2000 lakes, 

93,000 miles of streams, and 232 hot springs! 

 

About 30% of the fresh water on earth is ground water.  All the rivers and lakes combined account 

for less than 1%.  The rest is tied up in icecaps and glaciers mainly in Greenland and Antarctica.

The University of Idaho – Hydrology Program is a long-established program of hydrogeology and hydrology with a rich history in applied research and graduate education. 

 

Since created in 1965, more than 155 M.S. Hydrology* degrees have been awarded.

to help solve real-world problems in ground water resources and the environment in preparation for national 

and international job markets.

*M.S. in Hydrology (Hydrogeology), Ph.D in Geology (Hydrogeology) and B.S.  in Geology with Hydrogeology Option, are offered.   Our graduates are employed throughout the United States and internationally.
